Driving Privileges

When your license is suspended, you may be eligible for driving privileges during the suspension period. The Judge may grant privileges to you at the time of your sentencing, or you may be able to apply for them in writing at a later date.

Typically, the Judges of our Court will grant driving privileges to and from work and school for up to 60 hours per week. Most often, time is granted to cover no more than five 12-hour days or six 10-hour days based on your documented needs.

Driving privileges on suspensions ordered by the Judge are handled by the Clerk’s Office Traffic/Criminal Division. There is a $15 permit fee. If you have a License Suspension imposed by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, you can apply for driving privileges through the Clerk’s Office Civil Division.
